Hershey kisses project
Introduction-
For our unit on statistical process control (SPC) we were given the Hershey Kisses project. A project were we created an X bar and R charts using the weight of Hershey kisses in ounces. We started by weighing ten shifts worth of kisses, five kisses per shift and collecting data that also related to our Algebra Two class. Data such as mean, mode, and median. We used this data to create the various components of our charts such as upper and lower control limits, double X and R bar, and the range and median of the weight of the kisses.

Justification-
I believe I have used all the above math skills while also using the Manufacturing Technology Standards listed above while working on and completing the Hershey kisses project. I feel I've also learned a lot in the area of statistical process control.

Skills-
Algebra Skills
- Construct and interpret dot plots
- Construct and interpret basic control charts
- Determine which kinds of plots are appropriate for different types of data
- Compare data sets and interpret differences based on graphs and summary statistics Given a distribution of a variable in a data set, describe its shape, including symmetry or skewness, and state how the shape is related to measures of center (mean and median) and measures of variation (range and standard deviation) with particular attention to the effects of outliers
- Construct and interpret basic control charts
- Calculate & interpret measures of center: mean, median, mode
- Estimate the position of the mean, median, mode in both symmetrical and skewed distributions, and from a frequency distribution or histogram
- Estimate and measure the size of objects using SI and
- Explain the role of quality control in manufacturing
- Measure with precision tools and instruments
- Explain the role of quality control in assembly and fabrication
