internship skilled manufacturers inc.
Introduction-
MTA is very focused on putting its student into the work force and to lean what working in manufacturing is all about. The students accomplish this by acquiring and completing an internship. there are three options option one is a 240 hour paid internship, options two is a 160 hour paid internship, or option three a 80 hour unpaid internship. Each student begins the process by selecting an option weather based upon if they will complete it over the summer or work during the school year, the rest of the process is much like a normal job with applying and interviewing.
Justification-
My internship was at Skilled Manufacturing Inc (SMI). I was initially assigned to a document technician when I started my internship. I was tasked with working with the engineers, and machinists to create work instructions or BPP's as their called at SMI for the plant floor. The BPP's are to ensure there is no change in procedure or quality of a part between shifts and different operators. After a few weeks I was moved to the shipping department and did everything from packing parts to creating foam inserts for the parts to sit in. Here i learned trace-ability and logistics and was even put in charge of the foaming area some days. throughout my internship i learned a lot of tricks and furthered my knowledge of Microsoft office and learned a lot about part handling and packing n the shipping area. below are the skills i used while working art SMI.

Evidence-
Below is a picture of my desk at SMI, an example of a BPP, and a picture of two parts I helped wright Bpp's for. Also is my internship presentation and internship summary.
